Alternative Ministries

Below is a link to the Alternative Ministry Guidebook which will help you in the incorporation process and in the preparation of bylaws.  Incorporation is a requirement for affiliation with the Association of Unity Churches International and to be covered by the Association’s tax exempt umbrella.

The following items must be included in the bylaws:

• At least 50% of the leadership (day to day management) must be a Unity minister(s)
• The dissolution clause must list the Association as the recipient of any funds remaining after dissolution.
• Affiliation with the Association must be specified.
• A method of continuation of the business of the alternative ministry in the event of death or inability of the minister to function must be specified.

Once you have incorporated in the State and have established bylaws, please send a copy of the incorporation and bylaws to Joann Landreth at joann@unity.org, and to the Alternative Ministry Team: Scott McClintock revscott@gci.net and Diane Sickler dmsickler@aol.com.

Also send a letter of recommendation from your regional representative and signed copies of the Code of Ethics and the Sexual Conduct Policy to Joann and the Alternative Ministry Team.

Once the Alternative Ministry Team has approved the documentation of your alternative ministry, a recommendation for approval will be given to the Association’s Board of Trustees at its next scheduled meeting.
