The mission of the Department for Peacemaking of the Association of Unity Churches International is to assist ministers, teachers, lay leaders, and their spiritual communities in embracing conflicts, transitional issues, and growth related challenges as a means of creating authentic community; to create thriving coherent, and integral organizations; to teach peacemaking and non-violent communication skills that can be used in every aspect of individual and congregational life; to equip regional peace workers and transition specialists to serve as consultants, and to expand Unity's influence for peace to other New Thought organizations.
These objectives are met, in part, through Education, Training & Certification, and Peacemaking Services.
• Education-Provide ministers, teachers, lay leaders and congregations with the principles of peacemaking useful in transforming conflict into opportunities for healing and transformation; publication of articles and educational resources; online support, workshops, retreats, and peacemaking symposiums.
• Training & Certification- Provide comprehensive and effective regional and national peace worker training intensives for certification of ministerial and lay peace workers and transition consultants.
• Peacemaking Services-Provide onsite services including, but not limited to: congregational peacemaking processes, mediation, transition consulting, and leadership capacity building.
