Welcome to our Unity Identity Project! In 2010, Unity Worldwide Ministries (aka the Association of Unity Churches) and Unity World Headquarters at Unity Village (aka Unity School) created a jointly-owned service organization. The purpose of the organization is to own copyrighted and trademarked intellectual property that our organizations use associated with our Unity Identity Project. This includes logos, print materials, and web templates. The trademark protects individual Unity communities because we are better able to prevent unaffiliated churches and groups from using our registered trademark. We have also carefully written and copyrighted the copy about Unity for our new brochures, websites (both for headquarters and spiritual communities) and other materials. To remain in integrity with legal requirements, the “Unity” plus designator logo must be represented and used as provided by Unity Worldwide Ministries. This is consistent with all proven practices of brand recognition and because the logo and the name are trademarked. Only by consistent use can we retain the legal right to control the quality and nature of the use of these trademarks, thus benefiting the entire movement. Although we do strongly recommend that centers adopt and implement the brand identity materials as developed and created by Unity Worldwide Ministries and Unity World Headquarters at Unity Village, we realize the need for centers to express their own identity in the process. To that end, we are creating materials with built-in flexibility to accommodate this need. Tools for Implementation The Identity Project offers a number of tools to Unity ministries:
The language is available for any Unity ministry to use, whether participating in the project or not. The logo package and other tools will be available to all who decide to partner with Unity Worldwide Ministries in implementing this project. All of these tools are available once a ministry agrees to participate as detailed in the Ministry Partner Agreement (below). Requirements for Participation There are two requirements for participating in this project:
Process There are ground rules agreed to by each ministry about how they will use the components of the Unity Identity Project. Please view the requirements in the “Ministry Partner Agreement, Contact Sheet and Logo Package Payment.” Once a ministry decides to participate, follow the process below.
Once we receive your paperwork and payment, we will set up access to the online print service bureau at unity.miprintshop.com when the next group launches. The online print service bureau gives you an easy-to-use, central order point for printing, as well as for novelties such as T-shirts, mugs, stickers, mouse pads, pens, pins etc. This service benefits ministries with nationally-negotiated pricing, excellent quality and great convenience. We are currently planning to launch groups on:
Ongoing Support Once you have signed up for the Unity Identity Project, you will receive a Participant Toolkit that will explain the process and help you effectively put the brand identity package to work within your ministry. This toolkit contains the various support materials necessary for you and your community to launch your new identity including: your spiritual community’s logo in several formats, branding guidelines and various avenues of support offered by Unity Worldwide Ministries’ staff.
We welcome you to a new chapter in Unity’s history. One that we
believe will make Unity a household name. |
